This 14 course series is 20 hours.

Charlie Pierce, President of LeapFrog Training & Consulting (LTC), guides viewers through a set of videos that include animation, examples, and interactivity that present a well-rounded overview of CCTV as a security tool while incorporating deterrence methods into the CCTV security system application.

Each course takes approximately 60 - 90 minutes to complete.

Included in this package:

CCTV Online Training Course 1: Video Design Theory
This course introduces the basic components of the camera system, the application of 2:1 Interlace and Moment of Blank theories, and nine security system peripherals used to enhance the learner’s ability to design, install, and troubleshoot indoor and outdoor CCTV security systems. The basics of video resolution and video imagery are also introduced. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 2: CCTV System Overview
Basic types of security, duties of security, set up and application of deterrence and three precepts of using CCTV security cameras to obtain visual evidence are introduced in Course 2. Viewers learn to identify security equipment and their purpose and apply security equipment to specific situations to obtain visual evidence. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course’s content.

CCTV Online Training Course 3: Cameras
Proper selection of a camera through identification of a CCTV camera’s purpose, light sensitivity measurements, best use of resolution, and identifying camera features are presented. The learner’s ability to associate the CCTV security goals and application of equipment to meet those goals emphasized. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course’s content.

CCTV Online Training Course 4: Lighting / IR
Course 4 compares both Thermal and Infrared lighting and their usage plus demonstrates to learners how to choose proper lighting that meets the CCTV security design goals. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 5: Lenses
PART A: The use and features of five types of lenses are presented in addition to lens format size, C and CS Standards, Color Corrected Lenses, Video and DC Lenses, and points for choosing the proper lens. The learner is introduced to the importance of associating lenses applications to a CCTV security design. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

PART B: Course 5B introduces the learner to three methods of calculating lens size, methods of enhancing the power of the lens, calculating depth of field, and increasing sales through use of new technology, pre-calculations and documentation of CCTV security design. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 6: Transmission
PART A: An informative discussion with Bob DeLia, founder of FiberOptions, provides learners with a comparison between the features and applications of both fiber optics and co-axial cable transmission. Choosing the proper transmission equipment, equipment cost and review of applicable electrical standards, and a discussion of the future of fiber optics in the CCTV field is also included. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

PART B: This course introduces learners to additional video signal transmission such as co-axial, radio frequency, microwave, and 2-Wire. The course presents learners with the features, advantages, disadvantages, and usage of each type of transmission type followed by a final assessment to evaluate comprehension of content.

CCTV Online Training Course 7: Monitors
The learner is presented with the variety of factors that affect security personnel’s attention span and perception while on the job and how to diminish non-productive factors to improve perception and attention span. Factors such as monitor sizes, types of monitor, Time and Fatigue Factors, viewing distance from the monitor, and work environment are reviewed. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 8: Pan/Tilts & Domes
An informative discussion with John Bragg of Vicon, provides learners with the usage and features of remote positioning devices. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 9: Switchers and Quads
An introduction to the features and application of both Switchers and Quads is presented. Determining the goal of the CCTV security design prior to selection and application these peripherals is emphasized. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 10: Multiplexers and Matrix
An introduction to the features and application of both Multiplexers and the Matrix is presented. Determining the goal of the CCTV security design prior to selection and application these peripherals is emphasized. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 11: Digital Management Systems
An informative discussion with Dan Courtright of Panasonic Systems, provides learners with the definition of a digital management system, how this type of system is used, various transmission methods, advantages, disadvantages, and features of digital management systems, and questions to ask dealers when shopping for this type of system. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 12: Recorders
This course introduces Ray Bustamante of GYYR Service. Video recording techniques used in the CCTV security field, the types of recorders and a comparison of each, system storage, recorder application and usage when designing a CCTV security system are discussed and outlined. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 13: Site Assessment
This course provides learners with factors needed to conduct a site assessment when designing CCTV security for a customer. Factors such as defining the customer, identify the customer’s market, identifying and overcoming design objections, comparing value vs. cost, conducting vulnerability analysis, and implementing threat assessment are introduced. A final assessment evaluates the learner’s comprehension of the course.

CCTV Online Training Course 14: Legal
An informative discussion with Hector Lareau, Attorney, reviews the United States laws concerning defining admissible evidence in a court of law, comparing criminal, civil and tort laws, the issues of workplace and public privacy, and general liabilities of security.
